Hi Seizure fans, Wow do we have news for you. Like a boy being bitten by a radioactive spider, or a scientist exposed to gamma radiation, Seizure is mutating.
We've existed for three years now, we've made some sweet stuff together and the future looks creative. Seizure has become swollen with well-being and contributors and now we need to change how we do things. We have too much content coming for the magazine. We have ideas coming out of our ears, pens and keyboards.
I don't want to overwhelm anyone, but we got all kinds of action going on: we're in the artwork throes of the 'Sport' issue – there's more wrestling than you can poke a stick at [and they're wrestlers so you probably don't want to poke them with sticks] – we are creating a unique story project in collab with Sweatshop and some special guest writers; poetry is about to go wild with some obstruction inspired collections led by newly crowned poetry queen, Fiona Wright; and Viva la Novella II is off and racing. Last year we saw a wave of awesome entries and this year there are four prizes of $1000 and publication to be won!
So, yeah. There's a lot happening and a lot more on the boil. What we need now is a new website. A website so dynamic it can contain a multiverse of content columns and, yes, give us the ability to have a subscribers-only section. We need the support, like all grassroots arts orgs, and we are asking for yours.
Which is the long way round of announcing that we are launching a crowd-funding campaign with Pozible. We have arranged a long run of bonus incentives that we'll be offering over the course of the campaign. We've got book packs, ebook packs, BlackStar deliciousness, photo sessions and more – we've even got the Darth Vader helmet from the 'Sci-fi' launch up for grabs. And if we exceed our target – here's hoping – the funds will go to bringing in more paid contributors.
That's enough from me, please check out our campaign, consider supporting, laugh at the funny video, pick an incentive, and spread the good word.
