Who are you reading these days?
I've been reading alot of non-fiction lately. History and travel books mainly but I always have time for a fantasy or good historical novel.
What are some of your favourite books?
I have so many. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye maybe. Solzhenitsyn, Orwell if you're talking great literature. Chaucer spun a good yarn too but for a good read on a rainy Sunday I'd have to say George RR Martins Song of Ice and Fire series or maybe some Bernard Cornwell.
What was the starting point or inspiration for The Broken?
I've always loved fantasy novels from a young age so I suppose that's the starting point and inspiration. Over the years it just grew in scope from a couple of ideas until I couldn't sleep at night for thinking about it. Still can't!
Do you watch TV? If so, what kind of show are you into?
My Dad worked in television so I grew up with TV being a big part of my life. I watch a lot of cooking and gardening shows among other things but I'll watch anything as long as it's good. I'm quite into Supernatural at the moment and Flight of the Conchords — that cracks me up.
What are you working on right now?
The eternal struggle otherwise called The Broken
What sort of music would be good to read your story to?
If you're actually reading my story you can listen to whatever damn music you please.
Do you cook?
I dabble.
What, in your humblest opinion, is the best sentence you've ever written?
This one.
